– 28th Week in Ordinary Time

Positive affirmation goes a long way—you can catch more bees with honey.

“I having heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and the love that yo show towards all the saints, have never failed to remember you in my prayers and to thank God for you.” [Ephesians 1 23]

“…when the time comes, the Holy Spirit will teach you what you must say’” [Luke 12:12]

Prior to my return to pastoring twenty-two years ago, my associate the diocesan office for parish ministries, Sr. Marie Schultejann, SMIC, would use the expression, “Bless you!” when taking leave of a conversation with everyone she met. She was and remains a very affirming person. She saw good in every situation and strived to bring the best out of everyone. She did it not to manipulate or to get what she wanted but as way to reinforce goodness in other people. People with a positive attitude have greater trust in God and in difficult situations, trust that God will bring the best out of every circumstance for the good of all.
